🔥🔷 Pothos ‘Cebu Blue’ / Epipremnum pinnatum ‘Cebu Blue’ 🔷🔥
Also known as: Cebu Blue Pothos, Blue Pothos
This collector’s favorite is prized for its elongated, silvery-blue leaves with a subtle metallic shimmer. Native to Cebu in the Philippines, Cebu Blue can be grown as a graceful trailing vine or trained to climb. As it matures and climbs, the foliage transforms — developing fenestrations (splits) that resemble its Monstera relatives, making it both versatile and visually stunning.
💡 Care Tips:
☀️ Light – Bright, indirect light keeps its silvery-blue hue vibrant. Tolerates medium light, but growth slows and leaves may appear greener. Avoid harsh direct sun, which can scorch delicate foliage.
💧 Water – Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil are dry. Prefers evenly moist, well-draining soil. Do not allow the plant to sit in waterlogged soil.
🌡️ Humidity – Enjoys moderate to high humidity (50%+). Average household humidity is tolerated, but higher humidity encourages larger leaves. Best in temps of 65–85°F (18–29°C).
🌱 Growth – Moderate to fast-growing vine. Trails elegantly or climbs vigorously when given support, with mature leaves showing fenestrations. Repot every 1–2 years as roots expand.
📊 Difficulty: Easy to Intermediate (resilient, but requires support and humidity for its most dramatic leaf form).
🐾 Pet Safety: Toxic if ingested. Contains calcium oxalate crystals that can irritate the mouth, throat, and stomach. All pets are unique and reactions may vary in symptoms and severity.
🌟 Collector’s Tip:
Encourage climbing on a moss pole or plank to see the transformation from small, silvery juvenile leaves to large, fenestrated adult leaves. Bright, indirect light is key to keeping that beautiful blue-silver sheen.
